README: Terrain Model Data

This folder contains terrain models generated by Dr. Peter Lawrence, in accordance with the methods outlined in the paper: {insert paper title and/or DOI/link here}.

The terrain models are stored as .tif files within subfolders named after their corresponding British National Grid (BNG) 500km cells. For example:
* **England:** TL (Bedfordshire)
* **Scotland:** NH (Highlands)
* **Wales:** SN (Snowdonia)

Within each 500km cell folder, the .tif files represent clipped and masked rasters of 5km cells. These individual 5km raster files match the extents of typical national LiDAR and Digital Terrain Model (DTM) datasets, such as those available on download platforms like the 1m resolution data found at https://digimap.edina.ac.uk/roam/map/lidar.

Examples of 5km cell filenames within these folders include:
* **TL_45_23_NE.tif**: Represents the north-east 5km cell within the 10km square TL4523.
* **NH_05_60_SW.tif**: Represents the south-west 5km cell within the 10km square NH0560.
* **SN_76_34_SE.tif**: Represents the south-east 5km cell within the 10km square SN7634.

This data is stored and managed by the Keele Library in accordance with FAIR principles and Creative Commons policy.
